Do I have to submit an application again if my programmes had been endorsed under SEP 2010? No, under SEP 2010, all endorsed programmes (with the exception of Swimming programmes) will be valid from January 2010 to December 2011. In view of the transition to two year endorsement system, there will be an one-off application in September 2010 for SEP 2011 with an endorsement period from Jan 2011- Dec 2011 for newly registered sports service providers to submit their programmes and for existing sports service providers with endorsed programmes to submit new programmes. Sports Providers with endorsed swimming programmes under SEP 2010/2011 will have to resubmit the existing endorsed programme(s). All programmes will need to be resubmitted and assessed by the SEP Assessment Panel in SEP 2012 with programme(s) endorsement period of TWO years. To resubmit programmes, click on the "submit new programme" to complete a survey. After which, return to home page, and click on "resubmit programmes". Select the currently endorsed programmes that you want to resubmit. 2. How long is my endorsement valid for? Endorsed programmes under SEP 2010 are valid from Jan 2010 – Dec 2011. Programme endorsement shall be valid for two years. For programmes endorsed under SEP 2011, the endorsement period is for ONE year that is valid from Jan 2011-Dec 2011. For SEP 2012 onwards, all endorsement period will be for TWO years. 3. If I miss this application window, when can I submit my programme(s) to be endorsed under SEP? In view of the transition to two year endorsement system, there will be a one off application in September 2010 for an endorsement period from Jan 2011- Dec 2011. All application process will be completely migrated to a two-year endorsement system. Please apply for an SEP portal account to receive regular updates on SEP, including information on the next application window. 4. Who are in the SEP Assessment Panel? The panel is made up of representatives from SSC, MOE, schools, sports educators and practitioners. 5. Can schools use other grants (E.g. HPB’s CHERISH grant) to pay for the other 50% of the cost of the programme? The SEP grant is not to be used in conjunction with other government funding schemes (excluding MOE’s schemes). The other 50% of programme costs can be obtained from the school’s operation funds, students’ Edusave, or directly from the students. 6. Is there a maximum number of programmes that I can submit for endorsement under SEP? No, you can submit as many programmes as you like, as long as they adhere to the conditions set out in the Programme Endorsement Application Guidelines. 7. What certifications must I submit for my programme/ instructors/ coaches? Please submit: Programme: 1. Description of each session 2. Risk Assessment Management plan 3. Photos (if applicable) 4. The number of instructors / coaches submitted for the programme must be enough to tally with the Instructor to student ratio and group size stated. (ie: if the ratio is 1: 20, and the group size is 40, 2 eligible instructors / coaches must be submitted) Instructors/ Coaches: 1. Minimally an NCAP Theory level 1 or its equivalent (for certifications with equivalent standards, it is highly encouraged to seek accreditation before submission) 2. NROC/ NCAP technical certifications (especially if the local NSA is offering NCAP technical certifications for that sport type you are coaching) and/or 3. Other equivalent technical certifications to prove that you are able and capable of coaching the sport (please also submit transcripts, course syllabus etc) 4. What happens if my instructors/ coaches are not First-Aid certified? It is a strict requirement that all instructors/ coaches delivering programmes in schools must hold valid Standard First Aid certificates. If your instructors/ coaches are currently not certified, they will need to enroll themselves soonest possible to be certified. A list of the venues conducting such courses is available here 9. If my instructors/ coaches are part-time staff, do I still have to submit their details? Yes, so long as these are the coaches/ instructors that will be conducting your programmes in schools, they have to be evaluated. 10. I am applying as an Individual. Can I submit details for more than 1 coach? No. Individuals are only allowed to submit application for themselves as the coach for the programme. 11. How soon would I know the results of the assessment? You can expect to be notified by SSC via email within two (2) months after the submission deadline.
